Go Construct's terms and conditions

By using this website you accept our terms.  If you breach them, we may revoke your rights of access.

Information about us

Go Construct is an industry-wide initiative that aims to attract, inform and retain a talented workforce for the Construction & Built Environment sector. The Go Construct website is funded by the CITB levy and operated by the Construction Industry Training Board, Bircham Newton, King’s Lynn, Norfolk,
PE31 6RH, registered as a charity in England and Wales (Reg No 264289) and in Scotland (Reg No SC044875).

Intellectual property rights

We are the owner or licensee of all intellectual property rights in our site and in the material published on it.  Works are protected by copyright laws and treaties.

You may modify paper or digital copies of materials you have printed off or downloaded in line with guidance.  Content may be updated so the licence is for one use granted for materials available at the time of login and terms currently in use.

We (or any identified contributors) should be acknowledged as author of the content.

If you breach the terms of the licence, we may revoke it, or take legal action to recover monetary damages or stop you using materials.  You could pay legal costs.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the site/ materials in any way that causes damage to the site/materials or impairs the performance, availability or accessibility of the site/materials;
  • use the site/materials in a way that is unlawful, illegal, fraudulent, harmful, obscene, offensive, defamatory, damages a brand and/or its rights or brings CITB, Go Construct, its licensors or the construction industry into disrepute; or
  • use our site or materials as a conduit for malware, hack into our site, its server or a computer or database connected to our site or conduct or misuse data.

If you breach this acceptable use policy, we may revoke your access to our site.

No reliance on information

Content is for general information only and does not constitute advice. Take professional or specialist advice before acting on the basis of content on our site.

We try to update the information on our site but we make no representations, warranties or guarantees content is accurate, complete or up-to-date.

Limitation of our liability

We do not exclude or limit liability for death/personal injury arising from negligence, our fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or anything else we may not exclude.

We will not be liable to any user for loss or damage, in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, even if foreseeable.

Uploading content to our site

Whenever you upload content to our site, or make contact with other users of our site, you must behave professionally.  If you don’t, we may revoke your licence.

You warrant that any contribution complies with acceptable use standards and you are liable to us for any loss we suffer as a result of your breach of warranty.

When you upload content, you retain any ownership rights in the content and

grant us and users of our site a licence to use, store and copy content and

distribute it to third parties.  You also grant us the right to translate materials into

Welsh to fulfil legal obligations (and we will supply you a copy).

We may disclose your identity to anyone who is claiming that content posted or uploaded by you breaches their intellectual property rights, or of their right to privacy.

We will not be responsible, or liable to any third party, for the content or accuracy of any content posted by you or any other user of our site.

We have the right to remove any posting you make on our site if, in our opinion, your post does not comply with acceptable content standards.

The views expressed by other users on our site do not represent our views or values.

Third party links and resources in our site

Where our site contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, we have no control over the contents of those sites or resources.

Applicable law

The terms are subject to English and Welsh law and the English courts, unless you live in Northern Ireland/ Scotland in which case you may also bring proceedings at home.

The Go Construct logo is a registered trade mark of the Construction Industry Training Board, registration number 3111717.

CITB values your opinions of the site and may contact you for research and evaluation purposes so we can use your feedback to enhance your and other users’ experiences. CITB also values your opinions and insights into the image and culture of the sector, the recruitment of people , skills and training and may also contact you for research in these areas. This will support further improvements in attracting and supporting the development of people in the construction sector.
